Papercutting artist Boo Paterson has signed a book deal with adult-coloring publishing giant, Pavilion.
Paterson – an internationally acclaimed artist, who as exhibited at the prestigious RSA – will create a book that allows others to achieve spectacular papercutting results.
She said: “I hope to pass on my skills and knowledge through this book, so that even those who think they’re no good at art can produce something beautiful.
“I’m delighted to be working with Pavilion, which has been a great supporter of illustrators, especially through its phenomenally successful Millie Marotta colouring books.”
Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom sold more than 500,000 copies in just 6 months, in countries ranging from Lithuania to Korea, Spain to Japan, and it shot straight to the No.1 slot on Amazon.co.uk.
Paterson added: “Millie is a very talented artist – I can only hope that people enjoy papercutting with me as much as they enjoy colouring with her.
“People are certainly very interested in papercutting, though the most common comment I get is ‘I can’t work out how you do it!’ Because of that, I’ll be passing on techniques and giving readers the confidence – and knowledge – to make their own works of art.”
The book is scheduled to be released in spring 2017.
